Melissa Hyatt Showing at Blueprint
May 21-23, 2017 at Blueprint Show 2 in New York City Southold, NY.
Be sure to visit Melissa Hyatt at booth #21 at Blueprint in New York City from May 21-23, 2017.
Melissa Hyatt is a watercolor artist, surface pattern designer and textile color consultant living in Eastern Long Island, NY. Exhibiting at Blueprint will mark the Artist’s debut to
Art Licensing Trade Shows.
Melissa says “I am excited to meet new designers and clients in the Surface Pattern Design industry and even more thrilled to share my artwork with them!”
Blueprint brings together a fantastic collection of studios and designers that are producing a collaborative print show by themselves for their clients. The boutique type feel of the show is created by keeping the number of exhibitors under 30 giving the clients the opportunity to visit all of the studios.
Blueprint has become a great resource for surface and textile design for manufacturers and retailers, covering industries including paper goods and stationery, bed and bath, kitchen and tabletop, wall coverings, fabric for home and apparel and more!
Melissa began her study of Surface Pattern Design at Syracuse University where she earned a BFA then began her career in NYC. Through her background in color and design she’s created designs for Waverly Fabrics, Martha Stewart and Vera Bradley.
Her recent endeavors include licensing her designs for greeting cards with Calypso Cards and designing for Belle Maison USA as a Textile Design and Color Consultant.
She grew up surrounded by painters. Both of her Grandmothers painted, one with oils and the other pastels. They inspired Melissa to develop a love of art and color.
Watercolor painting is her passion and part of a daily sketchbook practice her favorite images reflect her coastal and natural surroundings.
She enjoys mixing paints on her palette to transform a pencil sketch into magic. You can view her paintings and artwork at local Galleries and restaurants. Occasionally you can find Melissa painting at a local Pottery Barn or West Elm Store at a “Meet the Artist” event.
Her work is available for licensing and by commission.
