When I stroll the shoreline at my neighborhood beach, I enjoy all that nature has to offer. I breathe in the fresh air, observe the beautiful scenery, wildlife and the shells and seaglass at the water’s edge. These moments bring a calm to my day, which helps me to prepare for the tasks ahead of me.

The scallop shell comes in many shapes and varities, this one had a beautiful warm golden glow which i strove to capture.. When I painted the shells in this collection it brought me back to my time on the beach and the peace I find there.

This shell had a darker and earthier patina than the “Shell Seeker” piece in this collection. Pair this one with the lighter one for a sweet little duet.

Each shell has been painted on Arches paper, my favorite handmade French watercolor paper. They were sketched first in pencil then lovingly painted in delicate layers of watercolor. This piece is framed in a white washed wood textured frame. Wired on the back for hanging purposes.
