“Porte Bleue No. 1 “ translated means Blue Door No. i

- 5”x 7” watercolor on paper

On the grounds of the Chateau I stayed at in Dangeau Centre, France there was a small structure called a pigeonnier. It was a pigeon house in days gone by. Now it’s a chapel and wine cellar. This is the door to the wine cellar, weathered and worn with the ancient brass key hanging from the key hole. I loved the worn blue paint and had to paint it.

Perfect in a pair with the Pigeonnier painting or as a sweet piece in the bedroom where you can dream of France.

Painted on Arches 140 lb paper with deckled edges. If you need framing ideas just email me melissa@melissahyatt.com
