7 Cape Cod lighthouses, all on one card!
Melissa Hyatt's watercolor map of Cape Cod is unlike anything else in the lighthouse series. The Cape's distinctive arm-and-fist shape is painted in warm sandy and golden tones, surrounded by soft blue-teal water, with seven miniature lighthouse illustrations placed at their real geographic locations: Race Point and Highland Light at the outer tip, Nauset on the outer shore, Sandy Neck and Hyannis on the bay side, Chatham at the elbow, and Nobska at the southwestern corner near Woods Hole. A decorative compass rose anchors the upper left, two small sailboats dot the water, and hand-lettered typography sweeps across the lower half — "Lighthouses of Cape Cod, Massachusett" in flowing navy script and bold red block letters.
This card grew from a lifetime of connection to the Cape. Melissa vacationed here with her family growing up, walking the beaches and visiting the lighthouses that would later become the heart of her greeting card series. The hand lettering adds a personal flourish that makes the whole design feel like a keepsake — the kind of card people frame rather than file away.
